As a former custom home builder in Ca for nearly forty years, I moved to Texas a few years ago and began the journey of building a new home here with many new vendors and subcontractors. While not all of those experiences were favorable, my experience with D'Hierro was outstanding. The product was, and still is 2 years later, exceptional. The entry system came right on the scheduled delivery date, with very qualified installers that did a phenomenal job on the installation. They even came back a second time, right before move in to detail the unit once again. I can't say enough about D'Hierro and would most certainly have them on my list of vendors to use again and again!

D'Hierro made me a stunning iron front entry door. Their craftsmanship is absolutely unmatched, and the door is made in the USA right in their warehouse in Dallas, TX. Most iron door companies in the area have their doors shipped in from another country which takes a lot of extra time and there's no telling how the craftsmanship will turn out. With D'Hierro, the husband (Jorge, engineer) and wife (Rocio, designer) team do everything in house. They have a lovely showroom and are down to earth, kind people who make sure every detail is accounted for. They will make you any design you want and then built it on-site. This is the place to go for a custom iron door. Their installation was impeccable as well.

How long does a custom iron door take?
Most custom projects have an 8–12-week fabrication lead time after final design approval and confirmation of scope. Smaller projects may move faster, while unusually large or complex work may require additional time. Most local installations are completed in one day; larger packages can take a few days. We confirm the project schedule before fabrication begins.
Are steel doors energy-efficient in Texas?
Our exterior doors use internally insulated steel profiles and insulated low-E glass. Standard exterior glazing is Cardinal LoE³-366® with argon gas fill. Glass, frame details, weather seals, and the conditions around the opening all matter. We review the project's requirements during design and confirm the specified assembly before fabrication.
Can you match a specific style or a door I’ve seen?
We work from your elevations, a sketch, or a reference image and develop full shop drawings for sign-off before we forge anything.
Do you install, or just fabricate?
Both. Doors are forged and finished in our Dallas shop and installed by the D’Hierro crew — one accountable team from drawing to hinge.
What affects the cost of a custom steel or iron door?
The size and number of openings are the starting point. A single door, double entry, or oversized pivot can involve different glass, hardware, and installation requirements. Sidelights, transoms, arches, finish choices, and existing site conditions also affect the final scope. Send approximate measurements and the style you have in mind so we can prepare a project-specific estimate.
Can you replace my existing front door with a custom steel door?
Yes. We work on existing homes as well as new construction. We review the opening, surrounding finishes, door operation, and any connected glass before developing the drawings. Approximate dimensions and a photo are enough to begin; final conditions are field-verified before fabrication.
Can the doors, sidelights, and transom be designed together?
Yes. We can develop the door and surrounding fixed glass as one entry composition, with coordinated proportions, divided-light patterns, glass, and finish. Single doors, double doors, arches, and pivot entries can be developed around the architecture and the opening.
