IS STEEL ALWAYS IN STYLE?

Hi everyone,

A client asked me something recently that I hear quite often:

“Are steel doors just a trend… or will they still look good years from now?”

It’s a fair question. When you’re making a change to your home—especially something as visible as your front door—you want to know it will still feel beautiful long after the excitement of the project is over.

After 31 years of designing and manufacturing steel doors, I’ve watched styles evolve quite a bit. In the early 2000s, many people loved ornate designs with scrollwork and classical details. Today, the trend leans toward slimmer profiles, cleaner lines, and sometimes soft arches.

The style changes… but the material never goes out of style.

Steel has a way of elevating a home that’s hard to describe until you see it happen. I’ve seen houses where installing a steel entry door completely transforms the facade. What once felt ordinary suddenly looks refined, architectural, and intentional.

The same thing happens inside the home. Steel doors used for studies, wine rooms, or living spaces allow light to travel through the house while still beautifully defining each room.

One of my favorite parts of this work is hearing from clients years later. Sometimes they tell me that visitors still ask them who made their door. That’s when you know the design truly stood the test of time.

I think the reason steel doors remain relevant is simple: when you choose the right design for your home, it doesn’t feel trendy. It feels like it was always meant to be there.

And that’s really what most homeowners want—not something flashy for a moment, but something that feels beautiful, intentional, and lasting.

If you’ve ever wondered whether steel doors would suit your home, you’re not alone. The best designs always begin with a conversation about the architecture of the house, the finishes, and how you want the space to feel.

If you’re curious, we’re always happy to talk through ideas or answer questions. No pressure—just helping you see what’s possible.

Warmly,
